Confirm! is a mobile task-tracking app with a unique location reminding feature. The app contains several common features such as a sign up, task creating, ordering and assigning. Families or friends can join a group based on an ID, and once joined, anyone can be assigned a task. The app also contains a tracker which shows the number of tasks completed per day, and the people who completed those tasks.
In addition to these common features, the location reminding feature can be used to remind users when they are close to a location to complete that task. For example, if you are close by the bank, the app can remind you to pick up some cash. Or if you are close to the store, the app can remind you to pick up groceries. This unique feature was interesting to program and makes this app stand out as somewhat unique compared to the rest.
Building this app has given me quite a lot of insight about managing a project on my own. I had to develop a structured and organized setup, write my own tests, and use the app in the real world. The app also gave me experience in facilitating real-world feedback from users of the app, to give me insight to additional features or organization. The app also gave me an understanding of data collection and storage. Finally, working through uploading the app to the App Store gave me key insight into the uploading process, privacy laws, and other regulations and guidelines for making a quality app.
